Re: [MittleiderMethodGardening] T-Posts

I will only offer a cpl notes ideas.

DeckMate screws at Home depot / etc can be had in 3 - 3 1/2 inch
lengths.
They don't rust. The size is comparable to a 16p (peney) nail.
They *will come with* a #3 phillips (for larger screw) or a square head
end torx 25 (star) end, tip, for hex screw guns or drills with slow
speed
ability for driving them. If the end is too short for your driver at
about 1",
long ones are there for ~$2 which work well in a regular drill, w/o the
common hex-bit extender that many use (for extending into corners,'
or as a fast bit change instrument.)

SimpsonTie makes galvanized braces for 2x4 ends of many types.
They may be 40¢ or $1 ea. Ask where they are in Home Depot / etc.
It may be that they are not required, but are galvanized and make
the work strong, easy, and even easy to deconfigure and save for
another year. I won't suggest that you need them. They may be
helpful to some. Huge ones are available for beams, and everything
in between.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to James Gledhill! I made my T-Posts
today.

Your instructions on them helped a lot! I still have to install them.
I'm
planning to use 2x4s on edge to go between the posts.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to secure the 2x4s to the
posts? We're
thinking of screwing them in on to the ends of the horizontal part. Any
better
method?
